Starbucks to sell Indian Coffee in US

In a bid that will boost the Country's coffee plantation industry, for the first time ever, famous American coffeehouse chain Starbucks will soon be selling premium coffee from Coorg in the US. Coorg which is one of the biggest coffee plantation destination in Karnataka, is home for Tata's Nullore Estates. And from here small batches would be first sold at Seattle, in US. India is the world's sixth largest coffee producer and Karnataka is the country's largest coffee producing state and accounts for more than 70% of total production.
The company also has plans of slowly expanding the sales worldwide. Starbucks have a long standing association with the Tata group. They have an agreement with the Tata's to serve coffee aboard their JV flights Vistara. Apart from this, Starbucks will also be introducing its tea brand Teavana in the country and collaborate with the Tatas to develop a signature Indian tea blend for the country.
