AP and Telangana governments are racing to bring new industries to respective states. Earlier, both the states compete to attract Hero Motocorp, one of the leading two wheeler manufacturing company in India. AP loses the race to Telangana as Hero Company opts for Telangana. Now both the states are trying to bring the global IT giant Microsoft to their respective states. Both the states sees its CEO Satya Nadella as their ray of hope, as he hails from Ananthapur district and completes his education in Hyderabad.
In this race also, T-government is ahead of AP till now. Its minister K Taraka Ramarao has already met Microsoft India’s Chairman Bhaskar and also arranged a meeting with CM KCR recently. They both are trying to woo him to convince Satya Nadella to launch the company in Telangana. AP government is also cautiously making its moves to approach him through common friends.
AP CM Chandrababu Naidu has already declared that he will develop (Satya Nadella’s native district) Ananthapur as IT hub. If, Satya Nadella is keen to contribute for the development of his home district, AP will get Microsoft otherwise it may goes to Telangana. The core problem here is AP not yet given special status. Hence, unless AP government takes initiative and stresses the NDA government and get special status for the state, it can’t expect any investor opts for the beleaguered AP state.
