Ever since the news broke out that Navjot Singh Sidhu has resigned from the parliament and also that he has quit BJP, there have been rumours doing the rounds as to what his next step would be. But the major news break was when media contemplated that he would be joining the Aam Aadmi Party as the party's Chief Ministerial candidate for the upcoming Punjab elections.
But AAP continues to be evasive on when Navjot Singh Sidhu and hiswife Navjot Kaur would join the party even as it clarified that no two family members can be office-bearers or contest polls at the same time. When asked, AAP's senior spokesperson Ashutosh praised Sidhu, saying he has always been a "fan" of the cricketer- turned-politician.
"But how can I reply on his behalf"."I have been his fan and he has redefined commentary. In politics, he defeated a heavyweight and was elected to the Lok Sabha," Ashutosh said. According to reports, an internal survey cum exercise undertaken by AAP in as many as 26 places in Punjab has yielded that party workers at the ground level are not impressed with Navjot Singh Sidhu. Some workers are even believed to have expressed resentment on the news.
