Story:

Yeto Vellipoyindi Manasu revolves around Varun (Nani) and Nithya (Samantha) who are very possessive at each other during school time(from the age of 8). They have a break-up at that age and love resumes during the college days. One day, Nani realizes that his family needs him to focus on his studies and distances himself from Nithya while preparing for CAT examination. Things didn't go that easy with her and after a brief discussion, it leads to another break-up. They meet again at the age of 24 and here comes Varun with a high profile job looking for Nithya and finds her, explains her that how he missed her all these years. Nithya disregards Varun and he feels very disturbed. By the time, Nitya realizes, things go out of hand for her as Varun plans to marry Radhika - his relative. What happens to Nithya? Whether Varun accepts her love or not has to be watched on screen.

Analysis:

Yeto Vellipoyindi Manasu deals with a simple yet complex love story. The sluggish pace it goes on following a wonderful scene made the film to look lifeless. Director Gautham Menon failed to bring the required emotions with his poor narration and the songs too disappoints. The break-up and love resume scenes were engaging but they lack the right mixture of emotion and looked artificial. Nani is misfit as school boy and he could have taken some extra care to look boyish!

The narration falters frequently and seems quite boring at times. Couple of scenes like Varun talking to his family members about his brother's marriage alliance, the penultimate scene where Nithya drives Varun to their favorite places were shot well. Coming to entertainment, Krishnudu provides some comic relief with good one-liners. The nativity factor goes missing and one will feel watching a Tamil movie that has Nani in the lead role. The needless and prolonged episodes between the lead pair without any entertainment only test your patience.

The climax is dragged and it could been have ended when the lead pair converge upon their love. Gautam Menon has failed to re-create the magic of 'Ye Maya Chesave' with 'Yeto Vellipoyindi Manasu' though the concept reflects how the current young generation are! Samantha's role has resemblances of Jessy from 'Ye Maya Chesave' while, Nani's role looked like any other hero in Gautam Menon's films.

TeluguOne Perspective:

Yeto Vellipoyindi Manasu has no story and director Gautham Menon has encapsulated the past and present times with out any drama. He could have balanced it with a mix of comedy, emotion and sentiment. There are few good scenes in the film, but they end on a OK note with dull moments around. The entire movie showcases how misunderstandings and ego plays a crucial role in one's love story and it would be gripping it could have been dealt in a more interesting way.

For those, who compare this movie to 'Ye Maya Chesave', you will be a bit disappointed as this film has no magical moments. Overall, Yeto Vellipoyindi Manasu connects with youth for its concept but has lapses in narration with extremely dull moments. The film may go well with multiplex audience only if the makers do publicity aggressively.

Performances:

Nani has delivered a decent performance with great composure and determination. He evolved as an actor and his expressions are good. Especially, his performance in the climax is brilliant. Samantha has got a substantial role and has delivered wonderful performance. She acted with ease and is very expressive. Krishnudu brings few smiles. Others played their part well.

Technicalities:

Ilayaraja's music is OK and his back ground score elevates the mood of the film. Anthony's Editing could have been better. MS Prabhu Cinematography is outstanding. Dialogues by Kona Venkat are catchy.

Positives:
Ilayaraja BGM
Nani, Samantha performance

Negatives:
Slow narration
extremely dull moments
Lack of entertainment
