After Shakti debacle, NTR is coming up with another action movie Oosaravelli, which is releasing in record theaters. Jr. NTR Oosaravelli movie review is one of much awaited ones and expectations are also very high considering the director’s range. Can NTR pull off a thriller? Let’s check out Oosaravelli Telugu movie review.
Story:
Tony (NTR) is a young chap and falls in love with Niharika (Tamanna), who is already in love with another guy Rakesh. Tony wishes to separate Niharika and Rakesh and eventually kills Rakesh. Why did Tony kill Rakesh? Cut to flash backdrop, Tony is street-smart and egts into tangle with anyone for money. He remembers his father’s (Shiyaji Shinde) words of achieving something in life and in this process he comes across a dejected Niharika who asks him a favor. What is that favor and how Tony achieves it forms the rest of story.
Analysis :
Oosaravelli comes with heavy dose of action and violence package but the movie is a let down as Surender Reddy could not treat a good subject line. Jr. NTR’s Oosaravelli movie does not have the required punch and rigor as there’re a lot of inconsistencies across screenplay and treatment. While the first half is reasonably alright, heavy action sequences in a rather dragging second half makes the Oosaravelli movie an ineffective one. Director Surender Reddy is determined to make a high-voltage action-drama with NTR but in the process, he overlooked the basics at the script level.
Oosaravelli is not a run of the mill script but surely challenges Surender Reddy’s competencies. The same old gun fights, mafia don backdrop, etc. makes the movie tedious. These concepts were not properly ingrained in the anecdote. The treatment and characterization of NTR is great but there are several flaws as the content is not naturally flowing.
NTR has put on some weight and grabs the opportunity to play the role of a revenge lover with panache. His dances and songs are pretty good. There are few inspiring monologues in Oosaravelli that NTR reels off even without a slightest pause. However, the adrenaline could not be carried all through since the screenplay suddenly breaks into another horizon. The action scenes and body language of NTR will make his fans go into frenzy and the romance between the NTR and Tamanna is also entertaining.
TeluguOne Perspective :
Oosaravelli promises a lot but delivers very little. With high production values and effective storyline, Oosaravelli movie should have been offering much more. Surender Reddy still believes in making the same old action episodes with hero taking vengeance by bashing the goons but never did he look like carrying out the tempo. The first half lies in establishing the characters and the action episodes before the interval block really promises a lot to. But the second half is inundated with violence, unnecessary songs and eventually missed out on the knock out punch. The cadence towards the climax is not striking and the climax action episode is also puerile.
Time and again we’ve seen Prakash Raj and got bored. Imagine a main villain occupying screen space only in the second half! Too much content running around the desperados could not gel well with hero’s romance with Tamanna, although good. Tamanna is outstanding! She comes with a thumping performance and literally becomes the backbone of the script. She perfectly matches with NTR’s act and her expressions during the emotional scenes are dazzling.
Plus Points
NTR’s characterization
Tamanna’s performance
Minus Points
Poor screenplay
Exaggerated second half
Weak comedy
Technicalities
Camera work by Rasool Ellore is super. Particularly during the action scenes, Rassol managed to catch all eyes and he once again proved why he is one of the best. Devi Sri Prasad’s music is not on the expected lines, although couple of numbers are good. Editor Gautham Raju should have edited the movie much better, especially in the second half.
Final Word
Oosaravelli movie is a mere average entertainer. The movie has heavy dose of violence in the second half but watch out for Jr NTR and Tamanna’s performances.
