Virat Kohli's knock yesterday helped him break Chris Gayle’s record of most runs in a single IPL season. During his unbeaten 75-run knock against KKR on Monday, he surpassed Chris Gayle’s 733-run mark to create a new record on his name. Virat's 752* is the most by any batsman in a single season of the IPL. Chris Gayle is the second best with his 733 in 2012.

Kohli has been on a record breaking spree this IPL as he had earlier broken Robin Uthappa's record for most runs by an Indian batsman in a single season, making 109 off 55 balls against Gujarat Lions in his previous match. With that ton, he had also become the first batsman to hit three centuries in a single IPL season.
