Sourav Ganguly, was apparently the main force behind Indian legendary Spinner Anil Kumble being appointed as the new Indian Cricket coach. Which meant he was chosen over the hot favourite Ravi Shastri, who was till recently working with the Indian team and made them reach the top of the table in all the formats of the game.
In an evident move that all is not well between the two cricketing legends, Shastri revealed that Ganguly was not present at the interview which he gave for the Indian coach's position. In a recent interview, when asked why does he think Sourav Ganguly walked out while he was being interviewed Shastri said, "All I can say is that Ganguly wasn't there when I was interviewed and you should ask what problem Ganguly has with me instead of asking me. He added, "I had very good discussion with Sachin Tendulkar, Sanjay Jagdale and VVS Laxman about the future of Indian cricket. We also spoke about the good things that happened during my tenure as the team director."
