Many foot ball fans might be aware of the name Rivaldo. Once a Olympic winner for his country, Rivaldo is now probably upset about the violence in his country. Though Brazil is not new to spurts of violence, the recent political turmoil seems to have worsened the situation. As per the statistics provided by Amnesty International, at least 11 people were killed in police shoot outs, last month alone. “Things are getting uglier here every day. I advise everyone with plans to visit Brazil for the Olympics in Rio — to stay home. You’ll be putting your life at risk here.
This is without even speaking about the state of public hospitals and all the Brazilian political mess. Only God can change the situation in our Brazil,” wrote Rivaldo. Rivaldo’s statement could definitely influence the tourists eager to visit Rio for the upcoming Olympics. But it’s not just violence that’s threatening the Rio Olympics. Rapid spread of Zika virus too is causing tourists to panic even before they are planning a visit.
