What Do You Fear?


We all have our own fears. Some of us fear animals, others fear blood and yet others fear being in closed places. We know the names of all these phobias. In this article you will discover a new verity fears, which you have probably never heard of. This could be because people in general are not encouraged to freely speak about their fears. 

 

Have you heard of Philophobia before? It is the fear of falling in love. Strange, isn’t it? Although rare, this phobia has a damaging impact on a person’s life causing him or her to live a lonely life. Such people tend to cut off from the society. They fear human association so much that falling in love is impossible for them. Any alteration in their isolated situation, makes the world a living hell for them.

 

What comes to your mind when I say flower? Most of us may say a breath of fresh air, good fragrance or beautiful flowers. But for some, it is nothing less than a nightmare. The fear of flowers is called Anthophobia. People with anthophobia experience extreme anxiety at the sight or even the smell of flowers although they know flowers can do no harm to them.
Mirror mirror on the wall, do you see anything pretty at all? There are people who fear mirrors. Their condition is called Spectrophobia. People suffering from this condition that looking into the mirror will either break it into pieces, or something will jump out of it or it will suck the person inside. It is said that such a fear develops after a traumatic incident or after watching a horror movie.

 

There are many strange things that can happen to person. There are people who are scared of little children. People with pedophobia, as it is called, experience anxiety even at the thought of babies. They dread watching, playing with or carrying them. So, we saw how normal things are not so normal after all. What is normal for you may not be normal for others. What scares you the most?
