4 nuns belonging to the Missionaries of Charity were feared to be shot dead in Yemen. The terrorists have entered its old age home in the Sheikh Othman district of Yemen, and has started shooting randomly at the inmates. 16 people were feared to be dead in the attack with at least four of them being the nuns, who were serving the inmates.

The assailants have escaped the scene soon after the attack. The Indian Embassy in Yemen was closed last year after civil war broke out, and the management of Missionaries of Charity was advised to close down the home. But determined to serve the people in the midst of civil war, they kept helping the needy risking their own lives. Readers might be aware that the Missionaries of charity is a voluntary organisation that’s founded by Mother Teresa with its head quarters in Kolkata.
