Imphal: The iconic activist, Irom Sharmila, who did not eat in protest against army atrocities in Manipur for 16 years, burst into tears as she ended her fast on Tuesday. Sharmila said that she was not a goddess and she wants to be a human being and Manipur’s Chief Minister to make an optimistic difference. She also said that, that was her life, she wants equality and she was called as Iron Lady of Manipur who wants to live up to that. Her comments to the media were a cry for help, as she waited for her release from the court. The 44 year old also told the reporters “people say politics is dirty, but so is society”.
