Santhosh Reddy to Join YSR Congress Tomorrow

Former TRS minister in late YSR government, S Santhosh Reddy is going to formally join the YSR Congress Party tomorrow in YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's presence at Armoor, Nizamabad district. Santosh Reddy, along with local followers, met Jagan at the latter’s residence in Hyderabad on Monday and expressed his willingness to join the party. He reportedly extended his complete support to Jagan’s 48-hour deeksha at Armoor from Tuesday. Jagan's Telangana tour is to start in Nizamabad district tomorrow on 10 January.

Santhosh Reddy had joined the TRS during its inception in 2001 and went on to become Nizamabad ZP chairman. He later got elected to Assembly in 2004 elections and was inducted into the Y S Rajasekhara Reddy cabinet as Transport Minister. He became a staunch loyalist of YSR and for his sake, he had dumped the Telangana slogan and joined the Congress party in 2008. After 2009 elections, he went out of focus. Many others in Nizamabad district belonging to Reddy community are reportedly joining YSR Congress along with Santhosh Reddy.
