- An earthquake to the magnitude of 6.4 on Richter scale has hit the southern Taiwan.
- Tainan, a major city in Taiwan is said to be worst hit by the the earthquake.
- The disaster has left thousands of people homeless.
- Many civilians were feared to have been trapped inside the trembled buildings.
- Tainan is the oldest city in Taiwan with almost 20 lakh population.
- The buildings in the city are old fashioned and were not strong enough to resist an earthquake.
- Many multi storied building have crumbled down like a stack of playing cards.
- 5 people were reported to be dead and the toll might rise as debris get lifted.
- The earthquake has struck in the early hours of Saturday, while most of the town is still at sleep.
