BJP MP Subramanian Swamy had earlier in the day demanded that the government sack Chief Economic Advisor Arvind Subramanian saying he was not working in tandem with the Modi government. But Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday said the government stands by Arvind Subramanian and that there was no question of him being removed.

“The government has full confidence in CEA Arvind Subramanian. He has provided valuable insights from time to time. We do not share Subramanian Swamy’s view,” Jaitley said.
