TDP and Cong lose Deposit in Kamareddy, St. Ganpur

AP by election results 2012: Telugu Desam Party had its first taste of humiliating defeat in the by-elections in Kamareddy assembly constituency, which was once its stronghold. TRS candidate Gampa Goverdhan, who had defected from the TDP to the TRS a few months ago, won the seat with a thumping majority of 44,465 votes over his nearest Congress rival Y Raji Reddy. TDP candidate M Venugopal Reddy had to lose his deposit as he could not secure even 13,000 votes.

On the other hand, another TRS candidate T Rajaiah also declared elected from Station Ghanpur constituency over the nearest TDP rival Kadiam Srihari with a majority of over 36,000 votes. The TDP managed to secure the second position here as expected, whereas Congress candidate Pratap is said to have lost his deposit.
