Be it Sanjay Dutt’s marriage to Maanyta, who’s some 15 years younger to him or the latest most-talked marriage of Saifeena, who share a cool 10 years of difference, it surely looks like that it’s fashionable to hang around with older men. The trend has been continuing for decades now whether it is Dimple-Rajesh Khanna or Dilip Kumar-Saira Banu in Bollywood or Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones in Hollywood.
Let us understand the reasons which the younger women cite when opting for an older better half.
1. Stability
It may sound a cliché, but women find the older version of men much more adaptable, mature and stable in handling relationships. Women believe that stability is very important in a relationship and an older man is more likely to provide such stability.
2. Financial security
Getting married to a man, who’s in the same age group as a woman, may mean lesser financial stability or security. Thus, many women prefer men who are older, as most likely they will be already settled and have a relatively stronger bank balance.
3. Ability to converse sensibly
Some women prefer older men for the sake of sensibility and they look out for this in their ability to converse on any topic under the sun. When men are mature and have acquired a certain amount of experience, women believe it shows in their quality of talks. It impresses them immensely and it is something they look forward to in a relationship rather than just romance.
4. Sensitvity towards women
Women also believe that older men, who are more experienced in handling their female counterparts or female relatives in the house, become more sensitive towards the not-so-experienced ones and handle younger women with more care. Women prefer older men in order to get this tender loving care and the protectiveness, which they believe will make their lives fulfilling.
5. Less likely to cheat
Younger men are believed to be friskier in terms of relationships and hence, some women believe that older men are more dependable. Older men are believed to be honest in their relationships and are less likely to wander off.
Whether women call it stability or security, but the age difference clearly makes them happy, for sure. And if the above mentioned Bollywood celebs’ examples are anything to go by, the match definitely proves to be a good bet.
