Kiran Bedi new L-G of Puducherry

The government today appointed former IPS officer Kiran Bedi as the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. She was the BJP's chief ministerial candidate in the last Delhi elections, which the party lost to Arvind Kejriwal's AAP. In the recently concluded elections the Congress-DMK combine won in Puducherry, securing a simple majority of 17 in the 30-member assembly.
