With Gold jewelry taking a back seat because of its price and safety issues when storing it in your homes, the new age fashion jewelry which have come in the one -gram-gold , silver, sterling silver and other forms of metal, have made their way into our jewelry boxes.

They are not only easy to buy and store and also come within reasonable budgets. But with added semi precious stones, pearls and polki stones and not to forget the metals used it is important to also store and keep these jewels safely. Here are a few basic tips to store and safeguard your fashion jewelry:

1. Keep the Jewelry in airtight boxes. They should be big and have enough space to keep the jewels carefully.

2. If the box is laced with satin cloth it would be better. Satin pouches also make a good option and can also be easily carried when you travel.

3. Don’t interlace chains and rings together. Keep the stone studded ones separate from the plain ones to avoid rubbing and tangling.

4. The best thing would be to by the boxes with multiple shelves and which have separate section for rings and chains. This was you store and save space.

5. Avoid from contact of chemicals i.e. Perfume, Sprays, and Water.

6. Wipe Jewelry with a soft cotton cloth after you wear them. This way you remove moisture caused by sweat and humidity.

7. Protect your jewelry from scratches and avoid over using them.

8. In summers, as you tend to sweat a lot it would be best to avoid the heavy pieces and stick to wearing the light weight ones.

9. Avoid doing any kind domestic work like washing dishes or gardening when you wear finger rings and bangles.

10. And avoid swimming with any kind of jewelry also as the chlorine will corrode the jewels.
