Jantikalu
(Typical South Indian Snack)

 

 

 

Since this Ganesh Navraatri is a festive season, time is to enjoy some delicious food too. Coming up here is a simple recipe for making Jantikalu, a very tasty south Indian snack.

 

Ingredients:

* Urad dal flour - 1 cup

* Rice flour - 1 cup

* Butter - 2 tablespoons

* Coconut milk - 1/2 cup

*Carom seeds - 1 teaspoon

*Oil and salt - As required

 

Preparation:

Take a bowl and mix rice flour, urad dal flour along with salt, butter and carom seeds.

Now add coconut milk to this content and prepare the dough. Take a deep pan and heat oil for a deep fry.

Now divide the prepared dough in to 4 equal parts and make oval shape balls. Finally take a “Murukku Maker”( available in super hazard) and put this dough in to that and press in hot oil and fry them till they turn into light brown color.

Your “Jantikalu” are now ready. You can store them in an airtight container and enjoy by munching during tea time.
