Atukula Payasam

 

 

Poha/ Rice Flakes/ Atukulu plays a very significant role during Janmashtami. Thus on Sri Krishna Janmastami, almost everyone makes recipes with Atukulu. To know the procedure of making poha kheer watch our video.

 

Ingredients:

Ghee - 2, 3 spoons

Dry Fruits - 1/2 cup

Poha - 1 cup

Milk - 1/2 ltr

Jaggery - 3/4 cup


Method:

Add a spoon of ghee in a slightly heated and add few cashewnuts and saute well and take in a bowl. Now add poha or rice flakes in the pan and saute till they turn golden brown. Later to this add a cup of water (remember for 1 cup of poha add only 1 cup of water) and in low flame wait till poha absorbs water little by little. Now add jaggery to it and wait till jaggery completely mixes with poha. Finally add milk little by little and wait till the kheer boils. Finally add roasted dry fruits and serve hot.
