Young Clerk was Being Lectured

On his first day at the store, the young clerk was being lectured by his boss.

“Now don’t forget,” said the boss,

“the customer is always right!” It wasn’t long before the boss noticed a customer entering his store and leaving immediately without buying anything.

“What’s wrong?” he asked the clerk.

“Why aren’t the people buying?”

“Well,” answered the honest youth,

“they all say the prices are too high and I tell them they’re right!”
