What your Anklets Say about You

Wearing anklets have been a tradition in India since the times of Mohenjadora and Harappa. There have been references to this beautiful jewelry in ancient scripts also and have health benefits as per Ayurveda. It is said to stimulate the liver, large intestine and lower abdomen. Great, so we are validating why you should be wearing anklets!

Now for those who already have a pair of silver anklets and would like to look trendy and stylish especially when you go to college you need to rethink your anklet style. Imagine a pair of slim fit jeans and T shirt and pair of silver anklets on your feet? Naa.. That’s not my style; I’d rather wear it with my traditional lehenga or half sari… And we agree with you.

So what’s your style all depends on what clothes you wear and what kind of a person you are. The funky brave hearts can carry any anklet, beaded, loaded, stoned etc.  If you are into the bohemian style then you are spoilt for choice!

For those who like it more quirky you can try the multi layered anklets in a mismatched fashion. There are crotched ones with patterns that run down your feet to give you that roman sandal look.

The demure ladies can go for the simple single strands where the embellishments are less and it’s more sophisticated. You could also try the threaded ones with simple charms.

Style Tip: You could also DIY your own anklet with colored threads, use pieces of left over costume jewelry which you think can be recycled and attach them with your anklet.
