Home made Granola Bars

 

 

 

 

Treats and Snacks can be healthy too. Mommies dont have to worry about additives and harmful foods....just collect the necessary items and stack up your cereal stock !!

 

We need:

* 1/2 cup - Peanut Butter or Almond Butter

* 1/4 cup - Honey

* 1/4 cup - coconut oil or u salted butter

*1.5 cups - old fashioned oats ( not the quick oats)

* 1/2 cup - chocolate chips

* 2 tbsps - ground or whole flax seeds

 

Method :

In a wide pan, melt butter or coconut oil on medium to low heat, add honey and peanut butter, stir until all ingredients melt and mix uniformly. Turn off the flame and add oats and flax seeds. If you want chocolate flavor only, add the chips and melt in the mixture. If you want chips visible as toppings, add them at a later stage after spreading the mixture on a wide tray.

Cover a baking sheet with aluminium foil and Pour the mixture onto a baking sheet and spread it uniformly. Slide the sheet into the fridge, once cool bring out and cut into bars. Add almonds, cranberries, roasted sesame seeds too for a personalised taste. These 'no artificial flavors,no high fructose corn syrup' breakfast granola bars work wonders as healthy snacks...and treats too !!
