Collect on your wall
We would leave a corner in the room empty, but not a wall !! Walls are for decorating. Contemporary design suggests collective decoration on walls. Just think of a common quality, it can be a common color, or a common material, or a common shape. Collect all items of that category and bring them onto the wall, let them be not so far from eachother. Sametime, limit the collection to an area shorter than your longest piece of furniture in the room or against that particular wall.
I followed something similar, brown and earthy materials was my category. I collected jute coasters and mat, bamboo baskets, recycled paper flowers and pompoms. I ddnt buy any item for this collection, everything was found lying at home, the flowers were made from brown paper shopping bags and pompoms from recycled tissue papers.
Let us know if you have tried this kind of decor yourselves...you can have a stamp of your own by bringing various colors of items but common shapes, various shapes but common material, etc...think !!!
