Shaakuntalam is a pan-Indian mythological film directed by Gunasekhar starring Samantha and Dev Mohan in lead roles. Music composed by Melody Brahma Manisharma, Samantha played the role of Shakuntala and Dev Mohan played the role of Dusyantha.
As previously reported, Shaakuntalam will be not releasing on February 17th as planned. As the Hindi release has few issues to sort out and makers also received lot of backlash about VFX in the trailer.
Today makers officially announced that the film has been postponed indefinitely. Makers are planning to work on VFX of the film and they are planning to release the film during April. Most likely Shaakuntalam will hit the screens Pan India wide on April 14th.
Meanwhile, Mohan Babu is also acting in this movie. Allu Arjun's daughter Allu Arha is going to be seen as Tanaya Bharat. The film is jointly produced under the banners of Guna Teamworks and Dil Raju Productions.
