Siddhu Jonnalagadda has delivered huge 100 crore blockbuster with Tillu Square and as Tillu, he has huge following among youth. But his immediate next film, Jack, became a huge disaster losing more than Rs.15 crores and with distributors openly condemning the film.
Now, his Telusu Kada is releasing tomorrow but the movie is not gaining any momentum, even though, the makers have started promotional campaign way back in August. Mallika Gandha song from the movie became a huge success but the buzz, did not grow as anticipated for the film.
Currently, the movie is trending on BMS with 6.4k tickets in 24 hours while Dude is trending at 4.32k tickets per hour. The stark difference in booking status and speed on the most popular ticket app is a worrying trend for the actor. He did appear to have cracked the code of success with DJ Tillu and Tillu Square but he needs Telusu Kada to be a big success.
Production house, People Media Factory, went all out for Mirai but Telusu Kada seems to be lacking slightly in publicity push from their side too. The kind of bookings the movie is pulling at the box office with just hours to go for its release, it requires huge positive word-of-mouth to sustain Dude storm.
Raashii Khanna, Srinidhi Shetty have gone bold and even acted in intimate scenes but the film did not really click as makers wished it would till date. Neeraja Kona has directed the film and there have been some radical scenes, too. Even S Thaman stated that movie will be entertaining, still these are lackluster bookings.
On top of it all, Siddhu got emotional on pre-release event stage with strong words, still audiences seem to be going with wait and watch approach. With Mithra Mandali being written off on the first day itself, Telusu Kada needs content to click with audiences, will it or not? That's the million-dollar question.
