SCOOP: Two Seniors Failed Big Time

Two major festivals and two major failures. Talking about the present set of films that have released recently, no one could forget both Bruce Lee and Akhil. If one has a super star hero and a star director in the lead, another one has a newcomer from star family with commercial king as director. Both have bitten dust surprisingly.

Featuring Ram Charan in the lead, and Sreenu Vytla in the director's seat, there are huge expectations running on Dasara release Bruce Lee. But the film has failed to meet them and disappointed fans. Pale content, illogical screenplay and jerk-like scenes have puzzled audiences. Though the film became third-biggest opener in tollywood's history after Baahubali and Srimanthudu on Day One, there is no way it could amass huge returns for distributors. Bruce Lee settled with nearly 41+ crores recovery (share) from box office for 56 crore rupees investment in the form of theatrical rights. All said and done, Sreenu Vytla faced the whole blame for coming up with such lacklustre content. Released on October 16th, Bruce Lee featured heroine Rakul Preet Singh in her hottest form.

Another most hyped film that came this season is Akhil. Marking the debut of Akhil Akkineni on silver screen as hero, Akhil carried heavy baggage of expectations due to senior director VV Vinayak's presence. It's a shock however to watch this film, as the content not just sounded logic-less but seemingly silly. Neither Vinayak, nor his hero have pulled the cords big time, to hold audiences to seats. A boring Diwali treat will definitely fizzle out if trade reports are to be believed. The film has to collect nearly 50 crores to be termed as a 'saving' grace.

In both the cases, its the directors who got under the sunlight and they are to take the blame. Both Sreenu Vytla and Vinayak hail from same village and they address each other as 'baava'. Hope the good friends will soon find out their bad mistakes and correct them with their next.
