Father of actor Jagapati Babu and a respected figure in the film industry, he started his career under the banner of Jagapathi Art Pictures, as a producer with the film, `Annapoorna,' while his directorial debut "Dasara Bullodu" was a runaway success. He is remembered for films like "Aaradhana, Antastulu, Adrushtavanthudu, Aatmabalam" and more in Telugu.
Mr Rajendra Prasad in his long journey of four decades in cinema is intimately connected with Telugu filmdom's golden period. The 74-year-old film producer-director, who started his carrier in 1960, made 34 films and directed 22 films in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil languages.
Mr Rajendra Prasad was born on November 4, 1932 in Gudivada, Krishna (Dt). Known as a `Gentleman-producer', Mr Rajendra Prasad is also associated with welfare activities for film workers and in developing film infrastructure.
In recognition of his services to Telugu cinema, he won `K.V. Reddy Memorial Award' instituted by the cultural organisation Yuvakala Vauhini.
Mr V.B. Rajendra Prasad also won the prestigious Raghupati Venkaiah Award for the year 2003 for his contribution to the Indian film industry.
Mr. Prasad has been the president of the Film Nagar Cooperative Housing Society for the past 12 years and among his achievements is the construction of the "Film Nagar Daiva Sannidhanam" - a temple with nine deities. A gentleman to the core, he treats work as worship and is respected for his dedication and involvement with the film industry.

His grand daughter, Puja Prasad, daughter of his elder son Mr.Ram Prasad who is pursuing her secondary education, made it to the news as a classical singer by releasing an album ‘Nitya Poojalivigo’. TeluguOne conveys hearty wishes to Mr.Prasad and his family.
