Jaipal Reddy : Today's TeluguOne
He hails from a village in Mahaboob Nagar district. Now he is all set to implement a plan to make the capital of India as one of the top ten cities of the world. He's none other than our Telugu leader Mr.Jaipal Reddy. In deed, it's going to be a giant leap in the urbanization of Indian Cities.

After a year-long agitation that saw bloody battles played out on the capital's streets, the Delhi Master Plan 2021 was notified late Wednesday with provisions that have brought smile on the face of thousands of traders operating business units in residential areas.

Urban Development Minister S. Jaipal Reddy late Wednesday night put his final signature to the master plan that comes into effect immediately. He has worked on this project incessantly for six days and his health disturbed slightly due to this strenuous work. Mr.Reddy succeeded in projecting the plan appeasing all the residents, commuters and businessmen of all categories.

Schools running in residential areas are a major beneficiary. They will not be sealed for the next three years but coaching centres built over 250 square meters of land will have to be closed. All nursing homes have been regularised. Play schools will be allowed to run only on ground floor.
The new plan has provision for building 2.4 million new homes but they will be constructed by group housing societies instead of Delhi Development Authority (DDA).One important feature of the new master plan is that it will be up for review every five years.

The plan was prepared by the DDA with support from 12 special groups constituted to address several aspects of town planning and was assisted by four studies conducted for the purpose.

He also said that the city will be ready by the year 2010, with world class basic amenities to host the Commonwealth Games. Shall we expect he would play such a crucial role in making the city as an ideal place to live in case of Hyderabad too?
