Husband and wife team Ravi & Sunita Koneru's Chakra Cuisine location Orange County partnered with 944 Magazine for an anniversary celebration to benefit The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. On Thursday, April 19th, more than 500 guests attended the Irvine restaurant's twoyear anniversary celebration, which featured an innovative menu of Chakra's fare and a variety of cocktails courtesy of Roberto Cavalli Vodka, Ironstone Vineyards and Kenwood Champagne. Acclaimed Producer Spider provided the soundtrack for the evening as he played a combination of mainstream hits alongside popular Bollywood remixes. Ziba Beauty artists demonstrated their skills on guests who were treated to complimentary henna tattoos during the evening's festivities.
"As we celebrate our second year in Orange County, Chakra is honored to give back to a charitable organization that is truly making a difference in the community," commented Ravi Koneru. "We are thrilled to join forces with our friends at The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and have pledged to donate 10% of all sales for a oneweek period beginning the night of our anniversary event to the Southern California Chapter."

Cystic fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide). Since 1955, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has been the driving force behind the pursuit of a cure. Thanks to the dedication and financial backing of our supporterspatients, families and friends, clinicians, researchers, volunteers, individual donors, corporations and staff, we are making a difference. Determined to present authentic dishes along with more innovative ones, Chakra’s menu features classic Indian cuisine reinvented for today’s more sophisticated, discriminating palate. By incorporating traditional ingredients with those less common in Indian cuisine, Chakra honors tradition while creating unique, inspiring dishes. Unlike most restaurants that specialize in Indian cuisine, Chakra does not limit its menu to one region of the vast country, but instead reflects an unparalleled dining experience that involves exotic tandoori dishes from the Northern states, as well as the distinct curries celebrated in the South. Chakra’s menu is both intriguing and inviting to the newcomer, while remaining authentic to most familiar palate.
