Poha (Atukulu) Dhokla

It is also called as  Poha Khaman. A traditional Gujarathi dish, and its a no steam instant version for Snacks and Breakfast. Too healthy recipe and I like it the most...very tasty...

Ingredients :

Poha                            - 1 cup ( washed n strained..if they are thick sprinkle some  water)
milk                                 - 3/4cup
green chilli paste           -  1 tsp
Sugar                              - 1tsp ( optional..but it is recommend)
garam masala                - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric                          - ¼ sp
Lemon juice                    - as per requirement
Salt                                  -  to taste
For tadka or seasoning (Popu) – oil, mustard seeds, hing (inguva), curry leaves.
Coriander leaves           - to garnish..

Method:

* Heat milk in a nonstick pan, after a minute when it has boiling point...add soaked n drained poha.

* Next add salt, haldi, sugar, garam masala.

* Mix nicely..constantly.. on medium flame.

* Poha will start absorbing milk and mixture will turn lumpy.

* Then  Squeeze Lemon Juice and mix well.

* Meanwhile grease a plate or vessel with some butter or Olive oil.

* Tranfer the lumpy mixture to a greased plate and level with flat spatula. it will nicely set like a cake.

* Do the tadka of oil, mustard, hung  and curry leaves and sprinkle coriander leaves.

* Cut in to pieces and serve with green chutney  or Tomato sauce and  Ginger Tea.
