Ingredients -

 

For Veg Momo filling:

Onion                      - 1 finely chopped

Carrot                      - 2 big finely grated

Cabbage                  - 2 cups finely grated

Capsicum                - 1 finely chopped

Green chilli              - 1 finely chopped

Garlic cloves            - 8-10 finely chopped

Ginger                      - 2 tsp grated

Spring onion             - 1 cup finely chopped

Asafoetida                - 1/2 tsp

Cumin seeds            - 1 tsp

Red chilli powder      - 1 tsp

Garam masala          - 1/2 tsp

Lime juice                 - 1 tsp

Oil                             - 2 tsp

Salt                           - to taste

 

For Veg Momo dough:

All purpose flour/ Maida    - 1 Cup

Rice Flour                         - 3/4 Cup

Corn Flour                         - 1/2 Cup

Oil                                      - 2 tsp

Salt                                     - to taste

 

Method:

First sieve the all purpose flour, rice flour and corn flour. Now add salt, oil and mix well. Make dough using water and keep it aside, let it rest for an hour. Heat the oil in a pan, to it add asafoetida, cumin seeds, once it crackles, add green chillies, garlic, ginger and cook on slow flame. Now add onion , capsicum , cook for a while, then add carrot , cabbage, again cook for sometime. To this add all the spices and cook covered for 5 minutes. Now add spring onion, lime juice and mix well. Switch off the flame and let it cool down. Make small thin puris with the dough, fill it with the above mix and make it into momos. Steam them in steamer for 10-15 minutes. Serve hot with red chilli sauce.
