Court dismissed petition for JD Lakshmi Narayana

CBI Joint Director JD Lakshmi Narayana, who is handling several important cases including Jagan Mohan Reddy’s illegal assets case and Gali Janardhan Reddy’s illegal mining cases will complete his deputation period by end of the June and will return to head office. Since, the case has reached a crucial stage, a lawyer named Sri Ranaga rao has filed a petition in High Court asking to order CBI to continue JD Lakshmi Narayana till he completes investigation of both cases. However, the High Court has dismissed the petition stating it is not worth considering under section 226. Hence, unless CBI top brass decides to extend his period, it is evident that a new director will take charge of these cases. In such case, it may either way impact the ongoing investigation and the cases.
