DLR lost 4 cr - Jagan gained 5 cr in betting
Believe it or not, Health minister D L Ravindra Reddy has lost nearly Rs 4 crore in betting on the MLC elections from Kadapa district under local bodies’ quota.
According to highly placed sources, DLR, who had taken the MLC elections as a matter of his personal prestige, along with gang had spent Rs 2 crore to purchase the MPTC and ZPTC members to vote for Congress candidate N Varadarajulu Reddy and defeat Jagan camp leader Narayana Reddy. Besides, he had invested another Rs 2 crore on betting in favour of Varadarajuly Reddy.
As everybody knows betting on prestigious elections has been a common phenomenon in several parts of the state, including Kadapa district.Interestingly, Jagan also invested Rs 5 crore to purchase votes of MPTCs and ZPTCS in Kadapa. Besides, he also invested another Rs 5 crore on betting. The results came in Jagan’s favour, with Narayana Reddy trouncing Varadarajulu Reddy with a margin of 10 votes. Now, Jagan managed to get back his Rs 5 crore, while DLR lost his entire money of Rs 4 crore!
