  • BJP MP against reservation for JATs

Raj Kumar Saini, a BJP MP from Kurukshetra is now raising his voice loud enough against his party’s decision, on reservation for Jats. Raj Kumar was already facing a show cause notice for his derogatory remarks against the Jat community. Raj Kumar now alleges that the ongoing protests for reservation for Jat is staged by the political leaders irrespective of their parties.   He fears that if Jat’s were provided reservation based on their violence, every caste would follow the cue to gain reservations. `How can a community that is aggressive enough to burn police stations be called socially backward?’ was the plain question by him. BJP is certainly irked by the questions of Rajkumar. It therefore has decided to include him in tomorrows meeting to be presided by Union minister Venkaiah Naidu to discuss the crisis in Haryana. We can expect what he is going to say there!

Too many bills to pass in parliament

      - A total of 20 bills were expected to be laid before the parliament in this Budget session.   - Out of 20 bills some were to being introduced for the first time, some were being laid for consideration and approval and some to be withdrawn.   - Some of the bills include the curious ones such as `Anti-hijacking bill’ whereby it imposes the possibility of death penalty, for those who hijack an aircraft that results in the death of passengers or personnel   - The Whistle Blowers Protection (Amendment) Bill is another bill that needs some explanation. It is intended to protect the people who raise their voice against a scam by providing concrete evidence. Often such people get killed off in suspicious circumstances   - A lot of other bills such as the one seeking uniformity in pensions and other conditions of service of Supreme and High Court judges, would be considered by the parliamentarians.   - These bills have to pass both the houses of the parliament through a simple majority to become a law!

Sikh comedian forced to remove turban

Just a few days after Waris Ahluwalia, a Sikh actor and designer was restricted from boarding a flight to New York, after he refused to remove his turban for a security check, another scene sprouts up. This time it was Sikh comedian Jasmeet Singh that was halted at San Francisco airport. He was forced to remove his turban to make sure that he wasn’t carrying anything illegal! That was not the end of irony for Jasmeet, as he was asked to leave for a rest room to tie it again. The turbans are revered by Sikhs as a part of their body. It would be a damn insult for them to remove it in public. Airlines often do offer an apology for such mistreatment towards Sikhs. But, has to watch whether they have enough courtesy this time to apologize Jasmeet.

    Pope Vs. Trump

Day after day... the presidential elections in America is taking curious turns. As Republican candidate Donald Trump is known for his sweeping comments, the reactions to those comments are often feeding the news papers. Recently Trump has made severe comments on the migrants entering into US from Mexico. Trump claims that people who come from Mexico are often a threat to the law and order in US “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best... They’re sending people that have lots of problems... They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people,” he said in last year. He has even gone further by declaring that a wall should be built along the 3,100 Km border that lies between US and Mexico. Reacting the the remarks of Trump regarding Mexico, Pope Francis said that such words are not in accordance with the ethics of Christianity “Anyone, whoever he is, who only wants to build walls and not bridges is not a Christian,” was his reactive words against Trump. Though Trump thinks that such words from the office of Pope is `disgraceful', we can hear a mouthful more from Trump in the coming days.

Robin has started educating the children as well as the sex workers through his organisation. The hard work of Robin in such a sensitive area has won him lot of accolades across the world. Freedom 251 phone- A flop show?

4 inch display, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal memory, 1450 MAH battery.... all for 251/-. The Ringing Bells company from Noida has created a sensation with its smart phone offer at smartest price. But, the phone doesn’t seem to be available for the consumers. The website of Ringing Bells has crashed with a display of apology from the company. Even if someone could get hold of it, they couldn’t proceed for a purchase. Earlier the company has announced that the phone would be available online from `freedom251.com’ between 18-21 of February. Many a eyebrows were raised when the company has announced the smart phone at mere 251/- while you can get those features for nothing less than 3,0000/- from other companies. Though the company boasts of the Make in India concept, the parts of the phone seem to have been imported from Taiwan. So the question is... how could you deliver a phone at such a cheaper price if you are not bearing a loss? And the company doesn’t seem to have a plausible answer for such doubts. Many critics has started terming this price as a mere trick to gain publicity. Was that so!

Suicide is fashionable for farmers- Says an MP

Can you believe that 120 farmers have committed suicide in Maharashtra in just one and a half month? These are just the official figures presented by the state government to their high court. But a BJP MP looks this as a fashion trend. Gopal Shetty who represents the party for the north Mumbai has uttered these precious words. He has even mocked that the states are competing to pay higher competition.  "All farmer suicides are not only because of hunger and unemployment. There is a fashion, a trend is on. If Maharashtra government is giving Rs 5 lakh, another government is giving Rs 7 lakh, Rs 8 lakh. There is a competition going on to give money to farmers," were the valuable words delivered by Gopal Shetty. Maharashtra is facing the worst drought ever for third year in row without a drop of water. While the farmers are looking for some drastic measures from the government.... this is what they have received from their honorable MP.

    They worshipped MAHISHASURA

The report submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs has revealed certain interesting facts about the students of JNU. According to the report- the Democratic Student's Union (DSU) was behind the protest on February 9. The report says that the DSU was a highly extremist organisation that supports the ideals of Maoist naxals. The members of DSU are known for acts that are sometimes and curious and otherwise cruel. DSU members used to worship the demon Mahishasura during the festival of Vijayadasami. They used to celebrate whenever they heard the death of army personnel in the hands of naxals. The report has even accused the DSU students for inviting the separatist leader Geelani for a meeting and asked for beef in the hostel mess. But here is something in the report that might irk the government too! Kanhaiya Kumar who is the main accused in organizing the meeting in support of Afzal Guru, seems to be from a different union called AISF. AISF is known to be the student wing of Communist Party of India. It is moderate in its views and is certainly not as radical as DSU.  Kanhaiya Kumar was in fact trying to be a moderator between different groups present at the meeting. But the whole blame has gone over his shoulders for which he was even arrested.

    BJP gets hold over Muzaffarnagar

In what is seem to be a major setback for the ruling Samajwadi party, the by elections in Uttar Pradesh has gone in favour of the opposition. The ruling party has lost 2 seats out of 3 seats in the by elections. The numbers might look normal, but many political analysts were viewing this as a hint about the future. These results might represent the mood of the people, as the state is going for the assembly polls in 2017. The result of by election in Muzaffarnagar proved to be surprising even to the critics. Three years ago, the sectarian riots have broke out in Muzaffarnagar leaving 60 people dead. Both BJP and Samajwadi party blames each other for instigating and encouraging those riots. Ever since the riots, Muzaffarnagar was seen to be highly sensitive and volatile. But after the demise of Chitranjan Swaroop, an MLA from Samajwadi party, Muzaffarnagar had to opt for by elections. Even the by elections here had to be held under the surveillance of six companies of Paramilitary forces. But the BJP candidate Kapil Deo has managed to be the badshah of Muzaffarnagar

Budget Session is going to be HOT

Well the dates are out! The schedule is decided. Indian parliament is going to have its Budget session from 23rd February this year till 15th March. The President will address the joint session of the parliament before the government proposes the Railway and the General Budgets. But.... that’s just the schedule. With the temperatures building around the JNU campus, the Budget session might blow some heat. Incidents like the suicide of Rohit Vemula, President’s rule in Arunachal Pradesh  and Pathankot attack might also be a cause for the heated debates. As the ruling BJP and the opposition were fighting over the tags of Nationalist and Anti-nationalist... the coming session is going to be critical for the government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi seems to have cue of the happening. He therefore has called for an all party meeting today to request the parties for a smooth flow of the Budget Session. We have to wait for one more week to find out whether his request was heeded by the opposition.
