  • Modi to visit Belgium even after attacks

The deadly attack of ISIS militants might have disrupted the harmony in Belgium. The suicide bombers have blown themselves in the Brussels airport and a nearby railway station resulting in more than 30 deaths. Europe was shocked at these blasts, as Belgium is considered to be the heart of the continent. A state of emergency was declared at Brussels. Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel, has declared the attacks as the black moment for the country. He announced three days of mourning for his country’s deadliest terror strike. However, world leaders have come forward to support Belgium in the crisis. Modi too has expressed his solidarity for the nation through his tweets. He was scheduled to visit Belgium on March 30. During his visit, Modi is expected to make strong remarks on terrorism.

    Police suspended for suffering stroke

50 year old Salim was a dedicated cop. He served in guarding celebrities such as P. Chidambaram and Sheila Dikshit. But the incident that happened on August 19, 2015 has torn his life apart. That night while he was travelling on a Delhi metro, Salim felt dizzy and began to wobble in the train. One commuter has thought Salim to be under the influence of alcohol. So he shot these acts of imbalance and uploaded on YouTube. While the fact was that... Salim had been suffering with seizures, which were the result of a stroke he suffered a few years back. But social media didn’t care to know about the facts. The country has believed, what it has seen. Salim was even suspended as the video went viral with lakhs of hits every day. Where ever Salim went, he was mocked and minded by the crowds. His wife has suffered a heart attack after watching the trauma in Salim’s life. The departmental inquiry has at last found Salim to be a victim of seizures. But no one on the social media noticed it! Salim has now moved to Supreme court to take steps to remove the video and provide suitable compensation for harming his public image.

    Zari saris to become expensive

No one.. not even Arun Jaitley has mentioned it. But the 1% imposition of Customs duty on gold is certainly going to affect many products that use gold. One of them being the saris that were made of Zari. Hereafter, traditional zari saris such as Kanchi pattu and Mysore silks are going to be costlier. Agencies like the Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation (KSIC), were expecting a steep rise in their production charges. KSIC alone is expected to incur 35 lakhs extra, for paying the customs duty. Even as the Gold Jewellers has gone for an 18 day strike that ended today, government has not stepped back from its decision on customs duty. So, get ready to pay that 1% extra even on zari saris!

    OBAMA in CUBA

`Just touched down here, looking forward to meeting and hearing directly from the Cuban people,’ was the tweet made by Obama as he landed in Cuba for a 48 hour visit. Cuba and America might be just 90 miles away from each other, but it took almost 90 years for a US president to visit Cuba. After the communist revolution in Cuba way back in 1959, both countries were been hostile towards each other. Fidel Castro, the leader of Cuban revolution was a die hard critic regarding US. But as the 89 year old icon gave away the throne to his brother Raul Castro, things began to soften a bit. Last year, US has even reopened its embassy in Cuba after decades of its closure. Obama in his latest visit is expected to rebuild the diplomatic relations between two nations. Apart from meeting with the president Raul Castro, Obama has a busy schedule ahead. He is going to meet the US and Cuban entrepreneurs; deliver a speech to the nation and would even attend a football match. However, he is not going to meet Fidel Castro!

Modi is God’s gift- Venkaiah Naidu

Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu has used many superlatives to praise the PM. Speaking at the BJP national executive meeting, Mr. Naidu has touched many facets of Narendra Modi. These comments came just a few days after Anupam Kher’s remark that `India has received a good prime minister after a long time.’ Modi was a “God’s gift to India” said Venkaiah on the second day of the executive meeting. He even said that MODI stands for “Modifier of developing India.” Venkaiah has even mentioned the fact that Modi’s statue is getting ready to be placed in Madame Tussauds of London. Even Modi’s presence in social media was referred by the minister. With over 18 million Twitter followers and 32 million Facebook likes, Naidu lauds Modi as a global leader. Impressive speech!

Four terrorists of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) organisation were arrested by the police recently. - These SIMI members were on the run for a long time. The revelations made by these SIMI terrorists have even startled their interrogators. - These people have tried to make the cylinder bombs, the first of its kind in India. They have leanrt to make this bomb from an Al-Qaeda magazine called `Inspire` - With these new founded bombs, they wished to make an explosion at the RSS meet in Muzaffarnagar in 2014, to avenge the Muzaffarnagar riots that took place in 2013. - But the bombs were found to be faulty and they have exploded in their house itself. - After the failed attempt, these terrorists moved forwards to create more explosions... but most of them were either unsuccessful or failed to create any major impact. - Now, as these people were in the custody of police.... there would be neither attempts nor failures!

Well! This is one more statement from from Trump that could baffle us. While addressing at an election rally at Salt Lake City in Utah, Trump has once more revealed his jealous over China. Trump feels that the infrastructure in countries like China and Dubai were far better than US. "If you go to places like Dubai, China, you look at the roads, at the rail roads, they have the bullet trains that go 100s of miles an hour. And if you go to New York, they're like 100 years ago," said Trump. That’s not all! Trump feels that America is getting poor day by day. Trump has feared that the deficit of America has crossed every limit that it has become a big bubble, that might explode at any time. He assured his supporters that he would change things once he gets elected.

    Crisis in Uttarkhand Assembly

After the Congress government in Arunachal Pradesh was toppled down by the rebels, now another state seems to stand in the queue. The Harish Rawat government in Uttarkhand found itself in soup, after 9 members from the ruling congress have opted themselves to join the BJP. These 9 members could certainly change the statistics in the 71 seat assembly. If congress looses 9 out of its 36 members to BJP, then BJP would emerge as the strongest party with 37 members. These 9 congress members along with the BJP legislators have left for Delhi last night, to hatch a new government. But Chief Minister Harish Rawat maintained that he had majority in the House. He is even confident that some of the rebel MLA’s were ready to come back. Meanwhile the state BJP is getting ready to form a new government with the support of rebels. Even if that won’t happen, the party leaders said that they are ready for fresh elections!

JNU students Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya were granted bail by a trial court today in Delhi. Both these students were charged under a sedition case, that aroused out of a controversial meeting held in respect for Afzal Guru. The Delhi police has tried hard to resist the sanction of bail, claiming that the due had raised anti-national slogans at the event. Nostradamus predicted Modi’s rule!

That’s what the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju believes. This member of parliament from Arunachal Pradesh has even tried to convince the rest of the country by quoting Nostradamus himself. Nostradamus is a French seer who lived in 16th century is thought to have predited many things before hand. Now Kiren Rijiju feels that the government of Modi is a part of those predictions. Kiren has even posted some facts on his Facebook to this affect. This is what Kiren has posted. Watch yourself!   `Prediction of Nostradamus “450 years ago of Modi Era”: How ??? French prophet Nostradamus wrote that from 2014 to 2026, a man will lead india, whom initially, people will hate but after that people will love him so much that he will be engaged in changing the country’s plight and direction. This was predicted in the year 1555. A middle aged superpower administrator will bring golden age not only in India but on the entire world. Under his leadership India will not only just become the Global Master, but many countries will also come into the shelter of India.'

Our next President.. Amitabh or Shatrughan?

Everyone in bollywood might be aware that Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha weren’t good friends. These two bollywood legends might have acted a few films together such as `Dostana’ and `Shaan’. But they were never in good terms. Shatrughan has even complained openly that he was not even invited by the Big B on the wedding of Abhishek. But now, at the end of their careers, both these actors seem to have made some truce. Earlier, Amitabh has indicated that Shatrughan would be a good choice for the post of President. Shatrughan seems to be flattered by the suggestion. This poor shot gun is not being encouraged even by his own party. So, Shatrughan has today suggested that the Big B himself should be our next president.  He called Amitabh as a cultural icon and praised him for achieving mile stones in cultural and social fields. Well this discussion would surely worry Pranabda!

Homosexuality is not a crime... RSS

RSS might still be considered as an extreme right wing of our country. But things seem to change with time. After its support for Reservations and revolt against casteism... RSS is trying to prove that it’s ready for some changes in ideology along with its uniform. Now RSS has even come forward to comment on the most untouchable subject in civil society, i.e., Homosexuality! Speaking  at the India Today Conclave, RSS's Joint General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale, said, "( homosexuality) It is not a crime as long as it does not affect the lives of others. Sexual preferences are personal issues." As his comments were aired on the prime slots in various channels, Dattatreya took on to twitter to elaborate his views. `Homosexuality is not a crime, but socially immoral act in our society. No need to punish, but to be treated as a psychological case,’ was his tweet today. He further clarified about his thoughts about gay marriage- `Gay marriage is Institutionalization of homosexuality. It should be prohibited,’  in another tweet. Hope that BJP is reading the tweets and bites of Dattatreya. Because the party has been opposing the decriminalising of homosexuality. According to Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code, homosexuality carries a punishment up to of ten years in jail. While members like Arun Jaitley and Shashi Tharoor were trying to write off the act, BJP has been firm on its decision to continue it.

What’s wrong with Bharat mata ki jai- Digvijaya

Asaduddin might have not expected this act from Congress. But Congress seems to have joined with rest of the parties in condemning the statement of the AIMIM leader. Yesterday, a member of Maharashtra assembly was expelled by the rest of the house for denying so raise `Bharat mata ki jai` slogan. The members from the congress party too have supported this resolution for expulsion. Reacting to the incident in Maharashtra assembly, senior congress leader Digvijaya Singh has asked ` “why should anyone have problem in saying it (‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’)”. He criticised Asaduddin for `communalising the already communalised environment created by the RSS.’ Digvijaya fears that such an act of Asaduddin would only strengthen the base for RSS. Digvijay is even confident that `no one other than the AIMIM has a problem with the Bharat mata slogan.’ Was he right!

Church seeks explanation for marrying Hindu

In a rare incident which might trigger some controversy, a church in Kerala questioned the marital relation of its member. Benny Thommana of St Joseph's Church at Oorakam had married a Hindu women named Lija Jayasudhan. This marriage has took place over 10 years ago and was even registered under the Special Marriage Act in 2005. Everything seems to be fine and the couple were rejoicing their marital bliss. Trouble began to brew when a Church Father came to bless the house. Realising that Benny’s wife was not a Christian, said Father began to insist for her baptism into the church. When Benny denied the request saying that she has the right to choose her religion, he received a letter seeking his appearance before the church tribunal. Though Benny is not in a mood to offer an explanation, the church isn’t to back off either. Would it expel him. Will have to wait and see!

No one to buy Vijay Mallya’s building

India might have watched the news about the auction of Kingfisher house to know the `score’. But to the disappointment of the country and to the banks.... no one came forward to purchase the liquor baron’s property. The 2,400 sq.mt Kingfisher house in Mumbai was left untouched. Earlier, an e-auction was invited to purchase the house. Banks have even set the reserve price at 150 crores to start the auction. Though this is tiny when compared to the 6,963 crore debt plus interest owned by Mallya, Banks cheered themselves to have made a start in the process of recovery. But to the utter embarrassment of 17 banks consortium led by SBI, none took the chance to please them. Some blame the high reserve price and some blame the legal risks involved with the property. But if banks can’t recover at least 150 crores from the debt, what could be the fate of remaining amount!

Trump’s victory is a global threat

We might be hearing this statement in whispers. But an independent report from London has said it loudly. `Economist Intelligence Unit’ which analyses the global markets has expressed its fear over the after effects of Trump being the US president. Though this Republican candidate is facing tough competition from Hillary Clinton... opinion polls are slipping dangerously in favour of Trump. Donald Trump has never tried to hide his hatred over many issues. Be it might be Muslims, or be it might be China... Trump has expressed his distaste over many issues. Economist Intelligence Unit states that he could disrupt the global economy and heighten political and security risks in US. `First, he has been exceptionally hostile towards free trade, including notably NAFTA, and has repeatedly labelled China as a "currency manipulator". He has also taken an exceptionally right-wing stance on the Middle East and jiadhi terrorism, including, among other things, advocating the killing of families of terrorists and launching a land incursion into Syria to wipe out IS’ said the report justifying its fear for Trump. Who can differ with those fears!
