    Virat, AB in Warne's T20 dream team

    Shane Warne the legendary Australian spinner has named his dream team in T20's and Indian Test Skipper Virat Kohli has made it to the team along with AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle and the recently retired New Zealand cricketer Brendon McCullum.  England's wicketkeeper Jos Butler was also chosen along with Bangladesh bowler Mustafizur Rahman and West Indian Sunil Narine.

    RBI Governor says "No" to 2nd term

    Raghuram Rajan whose current term as the Governor of Reserve Bank of India ends on September 4 has said he would not like to continue in the position for a second term. In a statement release this is what he had to say: "While I was open to seeing these developments through, on due reflection, and after consultation with the government, I want to share with you that I will be returning to academia when my term as Governor ends on September 4, 2016. I will, of course, always be available to serve my country when needed".

    Only 15% water in 91 reservoirs

    Though the monsoon season has started, the water levels dont seem to rising as expected. As there less rain till now the water storage in 91major reservoirs has dipped further and overall availability stands at just 15% of capacity. Of the 91 big reservoirs monitored by the Central Water Commission, 27 are in the west, 15 in east and 12 in central India and  31 reservoirs in the south India.

    All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) exam results were announced and an inspiring story has emerged out of it. An orphan tribal boy's dream of becoming a neurologist may soon become a reality as he has secured the 13th position in scheduled tribe category. Narayan Mallick who is 18 years old, is the only child of his parents, Narayan became an orphan when his father died in 2015. His mother had passed away in 2013.

    The elephants are living in a pitiable state at their 'Haathi Gaon' which was set up in the year 2010 in Rajasthan. It is India's first and the world's third elephant village that was meant to be a tourism product. Currently it is in a sad state and is getting worse by the year. Though Rs 2.31 crore is there in the elephant village development fund account, not single tree has been planted to create a climate for the elephants in captivity to survive comfortably.

      Loyola College in Chennai has come up with a unique way to allocate hostel space for students. As there is huge demand for the space it is said to be giving tests for English vocabulary to decide who gets the rooms. The students had to pass the test to continue staying in the hostel. They need to score a passing mark of 20 out of 50 or be denied the chance to stay in the hostel.

    Kashmir girl detained amidst bomb scare

      A Kashmiri girl was detained in Delhi airport while carrying a bag which had, "There could be a bomb inside" written on it. She was travelling from Dhaka along with her friends, where she is said to be doing her doctor degree. After checking her bag thoroughly the security guards handed her over to the Delhi Police who after questioning her left her off as there seemed to be no threat and it was just a mere scribbling which was unintentional.

      Coca-Cola is looking to boost its sales in India by putting in place a lot of new marketing strategies. While talking to media about this the global president James Quincey said that India now sells the cheapest, most accessible Coke you can probably buy in the world.   In a new strategy to penetrate into the rural market the company plans to set up 'splash bar', a kiosk where a vendor dispenses Coca-Cola from a machine into small cups at prices as low as Rs 5. Servings start at 80-to-150 ml cups across brands including Coke, Thums Up, Fanta and Sprite.

      Three women- Bhawana Kanth, Avani Chatuvedi and Mohana Singh created history today as Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar formally commissioned them as India's first three women fighter pilots at the Air Force Academy in Dundigal on Saturday. The three women, all in their early 20s, have cleared the first stage of training and have about 150 hours of flying. Now they will train for six months on the Advanced Jet Fighter the Hawk after which they will be assigned fighters.

    Mumbai saves Dhaka man with rare blood group

      A 25-year-old youth who had met with an accident in Dhaka on May 21 was waiting for a rare blood group donors in order to undergo a life saving surgery. On saturday, four units of the rare Bombay blood group will be flown across the border to save the life of the Bangladeshi youth.   The blood units will be transported in a special plastic box with ice gel packs. Blood has a long shelf life, of about six weeks. But temperature control is the key. Less than 400 people are known to have the Bombay blood group, of whom few are active traceable donors.

      The current scenario of 'one or none' norm being applied by the rich couples seems to be playing a role in the low birth rate in the state according to AP CM Chandra Babu Naidu. Describing children as the 'future assets' of the nation, the CM expressed concern over the rise in aging population in the country.   "The one or none norm, which gained popularity as a result of the state-sponsored family planning campaign for several years, has lost its relevance now. In turn, it has to make way for one or more children norm," he said.

The title has been conferred by The European Council on Tourism and Trade (ECTT). Out of the 30 contenders Cambodia took the top spot in the awards owing to its rich cultural and historical legacy and outstanding natural beauty. Around 4.8 million foreign tourists are said to have visited Cambodia in 2015.

      In a set back for India, UNESCO that evaluates nominated 'World Heritage Sites' globally, has recommended the postponement of awarding the title to Nalanda University. It said there were arguments as to the weaknesses that they found to be their in the dossier which was submitted by India for its recognition. Nalanda University earlier became India's official entry on the list of 'World Heritage List Nominations' in 2015

    Virat buys a flat in Mumbai for 34Crs!

      According to reports Virat Kohli will be soon shifting his base from Delhi to Mumbai. Rumours are that he has already bought an apartment which costed the Indian Test captian a whopping34Crs. It is a 7,171 sq-ft sea-view apartment. Yuvraj singh is also said to have purchased a flat in the same super luxurious building in the year 2014 on the 29th floor. The apartment is expected to be delivered by mid-2018. This will make him stay closer to his girlfriend Anushka Sharma who stays in Mumbai.

    India take on Zimbabwe in T20 today

      After the ODI series whitewash,the Indian team would be looking to repeat the same result at the T20 series as well. India will play Zimbabwe in a three-match Twenty20 International series which starts in Harare on Saturday. KL Rahul and Ambati Rayudu will most probably get a place in the playing XI owing to their good show in the ODIs series.

    Financial emergency in Rio ahead of Olympics

      A state of financial emergency was declared on Friday by the  governor of Rio de Janeiro where the Olympics are to be held less than two months away. Rio is expecting about 500,000 foreign visitors during the Olympics, which has coincided with Brazil's worst recession since the 1930s and a political crisis that last month led to the suspension of President Dilma Rousseff.

      A heartbreaking story of a new born baby girl is taking internet by storm. Baby Aubrey never got to meet her daddy. But the adorable picture showing the baby wrapped in a pink blanket and resting her little head in the palm of her daddy's motorcycle gear with a beautiful smile on her face has touched almost a million people on social media, was shared over a 78 thousand times and liked by as many as 349 thousand people in less than a week.     Before he was shot to death, 25-year-old Hector Daniel Ferrer Alvarez of Florida, always said he wanted newborn photos when their daughter was born. And the mother of the baby planned a perfect tribute to the father by placing her in his most favorite motorcycle gear.
