- New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum set a new record for the fastest Test century today.
- He was playing his 101 test and was hoping to retire after this test.
- McCullum was playing the the second test in the ongoing series against Australia in Christchurch.
- He has achieved the feet in just 54 balls surpassing the record set by Viv Richards and Misbah-ul-Haq.
- Both Richards and Misbah-ul-Haq took 56 balls each to set the fastest test century.
- McCullum has entered the crease at a stage when New Zealand was 32-3!
- He smashed the ball all over the stadium with 16 fours and 4 sixers.
- Incidentally he has also emerged as a player who has hit highest number of sixes (106).
- McCullum has earlier stroked by a bit of luck when he was dismissed through a superb diving catch. But that was found to be a no-ball!
