Control Diabetes With Capsicum !

 

There are many ways of managing diabetes. Some people like to go for medical management, others like to go the natural way. There’s a very interesting diet method for those who prefer the later.

Simply including capsicum or bell peppers in your diet can help you fight diabetes naturally. Research revealed that capsicum consists of a substance called capsaicin known to reduce the blood sugar levels. This is being said only after observing how people in Jamaica dealt with diabetes traditionally using capsicum in their diet.

Taking this as a lead an experiment was conducted on 6 rats with diabetes. It was seen that their blood sugar level came down from 6.40mmol/dL to 4.91mmol/dL after being given capsaicin. Reduction of 23% of blood sugar level is definitely a great improvement in diabetes. Doctors suggest yellow capsicum is a better option in this case when compared to green or red. They are said to slow down the carbohydrate digestion, better than the other two. 

It is also observed that raw capsicum does more benefit than the cooked one. Eating a salad will the best thing to do.Let us see the procedure of making the perfect salad with the right amount of capsicum in it. For this you will need, 2 large red capsicums, 2 yellow capsicums, 2 and half tablespoon of olive oil, 2 teaspoons of vinegar, 1 finely chopped garlic clove, 12 pitted black olives, handful of fresh basil, salt and pepper for taste. Mix these ingredients well and leave it in the oven at 200 degree centigrade for about 30 minutes. Don’t forget to garnish basil before serving. Enjoy a tasty and healthy capsicum salad.
