Golden Bath with Marigold Petal Scrub

Marigold Bath Scrub: No Indian household is complete without the Marigold floral decoration and as the festivities end, these beautiful garlands adorning your door frames and walls are pulled down once they start drying. Those with gardens might keep some flowers and let them dry and use the seeds again for planting new marigold plants, while the rest are thrown away.

Just like rose petals, the petals of the marigold flower are also used in beauty masks and packs. Marigold flower extract is used to prevent wrinkles by stimulating the collagen production in the body and also has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. And you could use either the yellow or orange petals.

Try this wonderful Marigold Bath Scrub using fresh marigold petals which are available easily in the local markets. This pack is great for those who have oily skin and helps in cleansing the greasiness from the body.

What you need:

A big cup of crushed fresh Marigold ( Yellow or orange) petals.
½ Tbs of dry Amla (gooseberry) powder.
1  Tbs of lemon juice.
½ Cup of  fresh Curd .

Procedure:

Take ½ Tbs of Amla ( Gooseberry) powder, 1Tbs of lemon juice and the ½ cup of curd .Mix this into a paste.
To this mixture add the crushed fresh Marigold petals to get a smooth consistency. You can crush the flowers in mortar and pestle (adding a few drops of water) so that you get a moist paste from the petals.
You could first apply this mask to the face .Avoid the lips and under eye area and leave it to dry.

Meanwhile take the rest of the paste and apply it all over the body in circular motions for about 15 to 20 minutes. Once you have applied it all over the body just leave it for 5 minutes so that the marigold pack sinks in. Wash of the pack with warm water and pat dry for that silky and golden feel!
