Analysis:

Mehbooba is made of reincarnation concept. As we all know, reincarnation is the philosophical or religious concept that an aspect of a living being starts a new life in a different physical body or form after each biological death. It is also called rebirth or transmigration, and is a part of the Saṃsāra doctrine of cyclic existence. Movie starts in astonishing manner. 1971 war episode is shown convincingly and a guy dies in the war. A kid gets up from sleep and tells his mother that he is killed in a war. On the other hand, a girl in Pakistan also tells her mother that she had a boyfriend and she is no more now. Puri started the movie grandly and continued to entertain till first half where lives of hero and heroine are shown. Cricket match episode, Aakash enlightening his father and others over social responsibility and pre-climax are best parts in first half. Puri however failed to deal second half where flashback is narrated. There hardly have any engaging elements in second half. Movie also ends unpersuasively.

Artists Performances:

Aakash Puri who was seen as child artist in several films has shown his acting abilities in his very first heroic movie Mehbooba. He built shapely physique and looked far better in the film. Aakash’s hard work is witnessed in fights. Neha Shetty is good and is right choice for the role of a Pakistan girl. She gave wonderful performance. Vishnu Reddy is also good as Pakistani guy who adores Neha. Sayaji Shinde was cool and provided laughs here and there. Other artists were okay.

Technical Aspect:

Director Puri Jagannadh might have taken good care in penning and making first half where film goes at good pace without much boring elements. Nonetheless, film turns boring because of dead slow narration and weak writing. Apparently, Puri didn’t take much care about second half. Even pre-climax and climax were also not substantial. Sandeep Chowta who made his comeback to Telugu cinema has given decent album and re-recording work is also appreciable. Cinematography by Vishnu Sarma is vivid and majestic. Production values of Puri Connects are high in standard.

Verdict:

Mehbooba has become half-baked movie because of Puri’s negligence in dealing second half. Overall, the film may not do wonders at box office.
