Naveen Chandra shot to fame with Andala Rakshasai hasn’t scored his second hit hitherto. He pinned lots of hopes on Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu. Comedy director E Satti Babu is also in desperate need of a success. Will this movie provide a break for these two?

Story:
Prashanth (Naveen Chandra) is an innocent middleclass guy. A rich girl named Priya (Shruti Sodhi) falls flat for his virtuousness. Though Prashanth accepts her love, they get disapproval from Priya’s dad ABR, a multi-millionaire (Murali Sharma). Then, Prashanth makes a challenge with ABR who takes it seriously.

ABR starts own film production house to make a film. Posani Krishna Murali acts as producer for the film and Raghu Babu directs it. A small time actor (Pridhviraj) plays a hero. ABR has a motive in making this film. What is it? What challenge Prashanth makes to ABR? Will ABR ever agree for Prashanth-Priya’s marriage?

Positives:
1. Pridhviraj 1st Half Episodes
2. Cinematography

Negatives:
1. Weak Story
2. Pathetic Narration
3. Naveen Chandra
4. Mind-numbing Second Half

Analysis:

Artists Performances:
Naveen Chandra is promoted as hero of the film. But, he was seen in a brief role. His role exists hardly for 30 to 40 minutes which were indeed the most boring sequences in the film. Naveen was not moving actively and was seen with dull face throughout. He was seen with single expression all through. Shruti Sodhi upped her glamor quotient, though she didn’t get much to perform.

30 Years Pridhviraj was show-stealer. His episodes in the first half, particularly one scene where he imitates all top stars of industry were amusing. However, the same Pridhvi irritates in second half with routine and regular scenes and dialogues. Posani Krishna Murali was also comical. Raghu Babu and Prabhas Srinu were funny in parts.

Technical Aspect:
Director E Satti Babu might have thought of utilizing Pridhviraj’s current craze completely by making him full time hero. But, he missed one logic! It is unpleasant for audience to watch a comedian in a full length role, until and unless every scene in the film is engaging or entertaining.

Satti Babu again relied completely on parody which is major strength of Pridhvi. But, serious comedy in second half has played spoilsport. Few dialogues penned by Nagendra Kumar were hilarious. Vikram Raj who worked on screen play should have taken extra care on second half. Music by Sri Vasanth is middling and cinematography by P Balreddy is first-rate. Production values are middling.

Verdict:
Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu was entertaining in parts. But, a boring film overall.
