Mahanubhavudu promotional videos were hilarious so many expected this movie to score a hit. Let’s see whether the Sharwanand starrer film has potential content to become a commercial success or not…

Story:
Anand (Sharwanand) suffers from Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). His nature of over cleanness brings troubles to his friends and mother. He meets a beautiful girl named Meghana (Mehreen Kaur Pirzada) who later joins the same office as his colleague. One fine day, Anand proposes his love to Meghana who tells him that he must get acceptance of her father Bhupathi (Nasser). Though Bhupathi initially rejects Anand for his over cleanness mentality, he accepts him for his daughter. When things go all good, Bhupathi faints down after vomiting blood on Anand who is in lots of pressure then. This behavior of Anand annoys Meghana. After getting better, Bhupathi asks Anand to come to their village. What are the difficulties Anand faces there? Who threatens him for Meghana? What is the big challenge he faces in the end to win Meghana?

Positives:
1. Few Entertaining Sequences
2. Cinematography
3. Music
4. Lead Actors

Negatives:
1. Regular Story
2. Few Boring Scenes here and there
3. Over Drama
4. Dragged Climax

Analysis:
Mahanubhavudu is all about protagonist Sharwanand who has the problem of OCD. Though his disease brings laughs at times, it goes overboard some times. He meets Mehreen Kaur who is also enthusiastic towards Modi’s Swacch Bharat mission. Though Mehreen initially likes Sharwanand, his crazy acts irritate her later. Nalla Venu toilet scene and Sharwanand controlling his emotions when he meets Nasser in a restaurant are hilarious. However, the sequences of Sharwa rejecting his mother when she tries to feed him with her hand and stopping car in the mid way when Nasser vomits blood on him are barbarous. Pond and dinner episodes were entertaining parts in second half. Mehreen Kaur’s speech in the pre-climax was unrealistic. The climax wresting episode was well shot and Thaman has provided enchanting BGM for the episode.

Artists Performances:
Sharwanand is good as a young guy suffering from excess of cleanness. He looked handsome and worked hard on his diction, dances etc. Mehreen Kaur was gorgeous, especially in songs. But, she was weak in pre-climax episodes where she utters inspirational speech. Nasser is good like always. Vennela Kishore provided some entertainment as Sharwanand’s only friend. Nalla Venu was good in toilet episode in first half. Raghubabu was okay as doctor. Other artists played their parts efficiently.

Technical Aspect:
Director Maruthi is known for rightly dealing entertaining subjects. He tried to make fun with a defect for hero’s character. However, he failed to do so. It was good to some extent, but we get bored at one level. His over cleanliness don’t just bother his family and friends, but also the audience. Few dialogues penned by Maruthi were good. Cinematography by Nizar Shafi was vivid, wherein SS Thaman’s music was biggest asset. While all the songs in the movie were catchy, Thaman gave fascinating BGM. Production values of UV Creations are top notch.

Verdict:
Mahanubhavudu is definitely not up to the level of expectations on it before the release. And it’s not that boring as well. Overall, Mahanubhavudu is an above average film.
