Srimanthudu Gives Mixed Feelings
on Jul 20, 2015
Finally the much awaited trailer of Superstar Mahesh Babu’s “Srimanthudu” is here as the audio of this film is unveiled on last Saturday. Let’s have a look at the trailer.
Interlaced with the message that we have to give something back to the villages that gave many things, Mahesh and his director Koratala Siva are trying to tell a social subject with commercial narrative. Dialogues like “Ma family ki oka son unnadu.. aadu.. ado rakam” are the high points of the otherwise commercial film, while Mahesh trying to blend both class and mass with the same film is another big experiment. Trailer looks fantastic for its visuals filmed by Madhie, but what surprises is the way Mahesh’s character transforms from being a rich brat to a lover boy to a mass raja. Will so many changes in the characterisation in less than two hour impresses audiences?
At the same time Devi Sri Prasad’s background score sounds good, but it has some sort of repetitiveness in it. Though songs are are filmed quite well, Shruti Haasan’s looks are sometime quite simple and not so adorable. Otherwise she rocked in some masala numbers.
On a whole Koratala Siva tried to narrate a known them with new screenplay, if we have to go by the trailer. How people are going to like this trailer depends on the full content inside. Wait till August 2.
