Evidence is needed to prove a crime. But how could you prove a crime in the lack of evidence? Hindu Dharma believes that the Consciousness of a person punishes a criminal in the court of god. If someone feels that no one is looking at him from the four sides, God who stands at the fifth side acts as evidence. He would grant punishment with the help of five elements of nature. The movie Sakshym with Bellamkonda Srinivas is built on this philosophy. The movie has aroused interest among the audience right from its production time. The curiosity among the audience grew by leaps and bounds as it is publicised to be a movie about five elements. Let’s look at the movie which has been directed by Srivas and Produced by Abhishek Nama and has come before us with huge expectations. Let’s look as the movie...
Story:
Raju garu who lives in Swasthikapura (Sharat Kumar) stands along with the deprived and gains huge popularity among the masses. He carries on his life as a head of a joint family. Munuswamy (Jagapathi Babu), a miner who hails from the same family doesn’t like Raju. He develops hatred on Raju as he was objecting to his ill deeds. Raju garu captivates the brother of Munuswamy after he does something terribly wrong. Munuswamy gets furiated by this act and gruesomely kills the whole family of Rajugaru. They even try to kill the son of Rajugaru who was just a few days old. However the child would be protected in dramatic circumstances. He is left with a hermit in Kasi. There, a NRI couple who has not children owns the child and takes him to America. They would name him as Viswa (Bellamkonda Srinivas). Viswa grows into a young chap and starts working as a computer designer. There he meets Soundaryalahari (Pooja Hegde). Pooja Hegde comes back to India as her father (Rao Ramesh) wasn’t feeling well. Viswa too comes to India in search of Pooja Hegde. And what happens there would be interesting. How Viswa was able to take his revenge without a hint of his past? How did the five elements stood by his side in his revenge? Would form the rest of the story...
Analysis:
The story is simply the revenge taken by a young person on the people who killed his parents. But adding the five elements to this revenge drama stands as an innovative point. The five villains being killed by air, fire, water, land and sky and the story that runs during such killings would be interesting. The way screenplay was run would be exciting. The demised don’t know the reason why they are dying. The killer won’t know the reason behind his killings. It’s interesting to weave the story according to this logical point. The turning of video game by Valmiki (Anant Sriram) into a reality was given a perfect judgement according to the story. The climax scenes were picturised in an thrilling manner. But the acquaintance between hero and heroine and the incidents that led to their love could not be depicted emotionally. Some songs don’t seem to fit the context. The fight scenes that were shot in the backdrop of windmills and the episodes that show the death of Munuswamy with the exploding of a dam were perfectly designed. Graphics used for the movie look natural. The starting sequences that were made on a calf would be mesmerising. It’s hard to believe that the calf is designed in graphics. The graphics made the calf appear like a true one. Almost 40 crores were spent on this movie. And the budget reflects every frame in the movie.
Actors...
Bellamkonda Srinivas has given great action in the role of Viswa. He has shown great maturity when compared with his past movies. He has shown ease in the fighting sequences. Heroine Pooja Hegde didn’t get much chance to show her acting talent. But she has stormed with her glamour. Jagapathi babu looked so powerful in the role of Munuswamy. He seems to be getting better day by day as a villain. Rao Ramesh in his role as Tagore who questions the atrocities of Munuswamy attracts the audience. JP and Pavithra have shown good talent in their role of Viswa parents. Harshvardhan Rameswar’s songs would get pass marks. The background score too perfectly fits the movie. It has certainly elevated the emotional scenes. The cinematography of Arthur Wilson looks good. Maintaining the red tint all along the movie adds to the emotion of the movie. The action sequences of Peter Hein would be a highlight for the movie.
Judgement:
This is a commercial movie filled with emotions and action packed sequences. The five elements in the movie and the scenes that revolve around them seem to be well-built. The screenplay filled with twists and turns would give huge excitement. Audience won’t feel bored even though the first half seems to be a bit sluggish. The movie would certainly satisfy the audience in Toto.
