Superstar Aamir Khan attended Mahaveer Singh Phogat’s daughter Geeta Phogat's wedding in the Haryanvi village of Balali on Sunday. For the uninitiated, she is one of India’s most celebrated woman wrestlers and since cricket has dominated the country, superstar Aamir Khan is trying to throw some light on wrestling and the story of an inspiring family, in his upcoming film Dangal. Amir Khan plays the role of Geeta's onscreen father Mahavir Singh Phogat in upcoming wrestling biopic Dangal. Geeta and her sister, wrestler Babita Phogat are played by actresses Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra in the film. Dangal tracks how Mahavir Phogat, a wrestler himself, mentored his daughters Geeta and Babita, who went on to win medals in the 2010 Commonwealth Games. The actor said he wanted to gift Geeta her bridal dress, but that is traditionally done by the bride’s maternal uncle. Hence, he stuck to a fruit box. Aamir further said his gift to the Phogat family is his film Dangal.
