Review: Abhinetri

on Oct 7, 2016

Modern directors are coming forward with creative as well as innovative ideas and are showing movies that have fresh concept.  On the other side, many other directors are taking movies based on the same old formula as the risk rate is less and success rate is more for such kind of films unfortunately. The film “Abhinetri” also followed the same formula. Come let us see if the movie achieved success or not.

Cast and Crew:
Tamanna, Sonu Sood and Prabhudeva played the lead roles in the film which has been directed by Vijay. Saptagiri, Murali Sharma, Hema, Pridhvi and Shakalaka Shankar played the main roles in the film which has been presented by Kona Venkat on Prabhu Deva Studios banner and for which the music has been composed by SS Thaman and GV Prakash Kumar.

Story:
Krishna, who works in a corporate company in Mumbai, has certain specifications about marriage. He wants to marry a modern girl who is active and who talks fluent English. He marries Devi (Tamanna) even though he doesn’t like her because of his family members’ pressure. He takes his wife to an apartment which is located at Mumbai. Devi’s behavior changes after settling in the apartment. Ruby’s soul enters into Devi’s body and Krishna’s difficulties start from then. Film hero Raj (Sonu Sood) falls for Devi and gives her a chance to work as heroine. To know the remaining part of the story, to know who Ruby is and to know why her soul enters into Devi’s body one should watch the film.

Talent of the cast:
Prabhu Deva worked for the first time in these kinds of stories. He once again proved with his performance that he could play any type of role. People who love Prabhu Deva’s dance shouldn’t miss this film. Even though everyone was told that Abhinetri was a lady oriented movie, Tammana’s role was limited and she was only a part of the film. She attracted the audience with her beauty and proved that she could dance elegantly. It could be said that Sonu Sood got a different role when compared to other roles in his previous films.

Technology:
From technical point of view the film maintained high standards. Songs were not that great and were difficult to understand. Vijay couldn’t show his talent as a director and has disappointed the audience. It is difficult to understand why Vijay, who usually helms movies that have different concept, has directed a movie that has a routine story line. One can watch the movie for Prabhu Deva’s as well as Tammana’s dance and for the comedy bits and if anyone expects more than that they would surely be disappointed.
