Now, the ardent Trichy fans of Rajinikanth have offered several goats to remove evil eyes that might cast upon the film's success. With the movie crossing the 500-crore rupee mark in box office collections within two weeks of its release, it seems that fans believe a few heads have to roll to keep away the bad omen. The film is running at most theatres housefull even after two weeks. The fans gathered at Thennur Ukkira Kali Temple to perform animal sacrifice. Happy with the official collection recorded worldwide, Rajini expressed his gratitute to his fans, producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu, director Pa Ranjith, theatre owners and distributors for the grand success. "My heartfelt gratitude to all those who made 'Kabali' a huge success. From my producer to director to fans and to the media, I thank each and every one of them," Rajinikanth said in a letter issued to the media. Speaking about the ritual, an enthusiastic fan said, "It is a huge success and there are a lot of people who are jealous about Thalaivar's victory. This is the info way to remove all those evil eyes can't upon him". This move by Rajinikanth fans faced flaks from animal lovers who call it unnecessary.
