Rajamouli's Padma Doesn't Belong To Us?

Discussions are on a rage since Rajamouli was conferred Padma Sri award the other day. Regarding his eligibility over the award, yesterday we have seen how people on responding on social networks. Now, there is another debate coming up.

With Rajamouli himself saying that he doesn't feel he is eligible for a Padma award, he's trying to be too humble and modest. Keep that aside, now the debate is, why would this Padma Sri doesn't belong to Telugu people. Because Rajamouli was recommended for the award from Karnataka state, not from Andhra Pradesh or Telangana. Like the way Tamilnadu state pushed Bapu's name, Karnataka pushed Rajamouli's name now.

Keeping in this view, could we call his Padma Sri as our states' achievement?
