on Sep 4, 2015

Bhale Bhale Magadivoyi Review, Bhale Bhale Magadivoyi Movie Review..After a long time Nani is coming up with a commercial entertainer, and this has Maruthi directing it. While Maruthi is known for double entendres, Nani is known for comedy timing. Let us see what they cooked together.

The CONTENT:

Lucky (Nani) is an agricultural scientist who has this habit of forgetting things whenever he is interrupted by someone. For that reason, a principal scientist (Ajay Sharma) declines to give his daughter to Nani in marriage. Later Lucky impresses Nandana (Lavanya Tripathi) with his social work and they both fall in love. Nandana is none other than Ajay Sharma's daughter. From then, Lucky tries to make sure that Nandana will not realise about his memory-loss kind of mind-diversion thing. What follows is the comedy of errors and a villain in the form of Inspector Ajay (Ajay) who sets sight on Nandanana. What happens in the end after everyone knows about Lucky is the story.

The EFFORT:

On-Screen:

Nani breathed life into a little confusing role yet again. His comedy timing, easiness even in complex scenes and his ability to run the show from first to last without making us bored are proved one more time. Especially his comedy timing improved a lot, though his looks are pretty same.

Lavanya Tripathi looks beautiful but her character has not much scope to perform. But given the kind of scenes throughout the flick she managed well. What could be felt high and kick-ass in the film is the character of Ajay Sharma. He gave a new look to the father role he played. He is impressive and efficient. Others like Praveen and Vennela Kishore helped to deliver the punches properly thereby giving nice comedy dose. Even Sr actor Naresh and Sitara too excelled in comedy this time.

Off-Screen:

It’s a happy move that Maruthi decided to keep off his double entendres. This is a clean comedy from him with little logic-less scenes. Otherwise he extracted good performances from everyone and nicely cooked a 144 minute entertainer with fun being the only element.

Music director Gopi Sundar’s songs have scored a ten. He has wonderful knack for beats and that helped movie’s background score lifted to a new level. Though title song, a mass one, is little disappointing, rest are all good.

New cinematographer Nizar Shafi delivered colourful visuals for the movie. Most of his blocks are stuffed with nice foreground and background elements. Rest of the departments have done a nice job in this limited budget film.

The PLUSES:

Nani
Comedy
First half

The MINUSES:

Routine climax
Slow pace in second half

BREAKDOWN:

Director Maruthi has decided to deliver a simple comedy yet again, without any of his double meaning coating. On that note, he has succeeded in delivering a simple theme with comedy all over. If you’re searching for logics, Maruthi quoted Alfred Hitchcock in the beginning itself, “Where drama starts, logic ends”.

Nani is introduced as a mind-diversion guy from the childhood itself. And as the movie starts, he just starts irritating people with his forgetting quality. From the moment he falls in love with Lavanya Tripathi, every scene sounds hilarious. Especially the one where he made comedy on a small road-side begging kid is a top notch. As the movie slips into comedy of errors, its just fun all over, with laughs coming to us from each and every dialogue. Though little slapstick, they made sense. And then a simple interval bang excites audiences to start thinking about next.

Second half looks rather routine, because everyone could easily predict what is about to happen. As movie slips into drag, then Vennela Kishore is introduced as Nani’s friend and he does the rest of show. Timing of both Nani and Kishore is terrific. Ajay’s villainy is partially entertaining while a mass song in the middle sounds like a stone in the rice. Finally when it reaches climax, the twist father gives is interesting, but a routine climax is disappointing. And the graph is lifted by the making video at the end.

Perfectly living up to the mark of clean comedy, this time Maruthi made a nice youthful love story with comedy and family attached to it. Perhaps you will not feel bore for 2 hours and 20 minutes though there are no hair rising moments either. Due to its unattended logics, the film is more than a popcorn comedy and less than a super hit. As there is no other film present at box office for comedy lovers, Bhale Bhale Magadivoyi might run the show well for next two weeks.

Final words: Full comedy Magadivoyi!!!!

RATING: 3/5
